10 Things You Should Never Do After Eating

Things you should never do after eating – Taking care of our lives and health is not bad idea but how can we do that? Of course, with a healthy meal, proper exercise and much more. In the end, it is our responsibility to take care of our body.

Almost everyone has heard that you should not swim immediately after eating, because it can cause stomach cramps. But have you ever wondered what else you should not do after eating?

We all know that good food is very important for a healthy life. But there are some things you should always keep in mind, such as “things that should not be done after lunch or dinner”.

A few things you should avoid immediately after eating to avoid digestion, discomfort and absorption of nutrients.

Sleeping immediately after eating

Short sleep after a strenuous meal can often cause a variety of health problems such as discomfort, gas and poor sleep. There are various studies that have shown that people who do not go to bed after a meal have less likely to get a stroke or heart attack.

The main reason for it is that many digestive juices travel in the opposite direction, and into your food pipe, thus corroding the inner layer.

This will lead to an increase in the acid reflex or lead to the cause of the acid reflex. The burning sensation in your chest that occurs when you lie down after a meal is because your food pipe corroding.

Engage in any activity you love the most, watching TV, chatting with friends and family, but DO NOT sleep right after that. Wait at least 2 to 3 hours before going to sleep!

Smoking Cigarettes

This habit is most common among chronic smokers, but studies have shown health problems. Research studies say that the damage from one cigarette after a meal is equal to smoking 10 cigarettes at once.

Smoking is bad enough, but after a meal it’s ten times badly. The reason is that cigarettes contain at least sixty carcinogenic substances (substances that can cause cancer).
Smoking especially affects intestinal irritation. The digestive system is most important in the whole body. It acts on whole body. Nicotine have ability binds with oxygen in the blood. On this way it is more easily absorbs. This will increase the risk of bowel cancer and lung cancer.

You may be shocked to hear that. Yes, showering after a meal is a really bad idea. Normally when we are full with food, the blood from the periphery, like the legs and arms, moves towards the digestive system

But when we take a shower, blood flows to our arms and legs, which means that there is less blood flow in our stomach, which leads to the inability of the body to absorb the necessary ingredients. If you take a bath after a meal, the blood flow returns to the arms, legs and body. This will reduce the amount of blood around the stomach, thus weakening the digestive system and causing slow digestion. Therefore, take a shower before a meal or wait at least 1-2 hours until the consumed food is digested.

Eating fruit after a meal

I’m not saying eating fruit is a bad idea, but after a heavy meal it’s certainly a bad idea.

Your stomach has problems digesting fruit, which means you won’t get the basic nutrients! The fruits are the easiest to digest and they only need 20 minutes to travel from the stomach to the intestines, where they are finally digested.

But when you eat fruit after a meal, it will get stuck with the food and will not travel through the intestines on time, so it will spoil. Than fruit will spoil the food that was taken together with them.

Drinking tea or coffee

This is one of the foods or drinks that should be taken before food, such as fruit. Because tea or coffee immediately after eating prevents your body from absorbing iron from food.

It is shocking that research has proven that iron absorption is reduced by 87% and can result in anemia, pale skin, cold hands and feet, dizziness and loss of appetite.

Coffee and tea have health benefits if you consume them in very limited or moderate amounts. Obviously, everyone knows that an excess of anything is harmful. Most nutritionists suggest that tea should be drunk at least one hour after any meal. Wait at least an hour after any meal.

Loosening the belt after meal

This is a common saying that you do not untie your belt immediately after a hearty meal.

Well, the fact is that it is bad, not only for the intestines or stomach. It’s just a sign that you ate a lot more than you needed to, and that’s bad. Although there is a lack of scientific evidence, it is believed that not loosening the belt immediately after eating could cause intestinal obstruction, which slows down the digestion process. To prevent this, remember to loosen the belt before each meal.

Walk right after a meal

It is a bad idea to go for a run right after a meal. Even walking right after a meal is not a good idea.
You will have severe acid reflux and indigestion if you do.
You can go for a walk after a meal, of course, but please after at least 30 minutes. Then it is perfectly healthy.

When you eat a good amount of food, your stomach becomes almost full and you become limited in movement. It turned out that there will be a huge difference in the activities of an individual before eating, and after activities after eating.
After eating, you will become lazy and lethargic. It can also be really dangerous if you thought to continue with activities after the meal. If you are thinking of climbing rocks, it will be better to have energy, and not to have full stomach.

Do not brush your teeth immediately after eating

Many people say that brushing before bed is a healthy routine, I don’t mind that, but it wouldn’t be good if you brush your teeth right after a meal.

Brushing your teeth immediately after dinner or after every meal is extremely harmful to your teeth. Brushing after meals will remove layers of enamel on the teeth. Furthermore, when you eat or drink sour foods or those with a lot of sugar, it is even more dangerous.

To protect tooth enamel, wait at least 30 minutes and let the mouth produce enough saliva to neutralize the acidity of the food that softens the tooth enamel.

Do not drink water

It is a healthy fact that we should always drink 8 glasses of water every day in order to stay healthy and in shape. However, drinking water after eating can disrupt digestion.

Too much water after or during a meal can interfere with the natural levels of acid and bile that are necessary for proper and good digestion.

Furthermore, consuming cold water can slow down your normal digestion and can lead to cramps in sensitive people. Try to resist drinking water for at least an hour after a meal and avoid drinking it during meals.

Avoid driving after a meal

As mentioned earlier, during a good meal, the digestive system needs a large amount of blood and more blood is concentrated in the digestive tract. As a result, the brain is temporarily deprived of a sufficient amount of blood, which will result in a lack of concentration. Also, because of satiety, you fall asleep, and driving with sleepy eyes is never safe. So don’t force yourself to drive after eating. 1

Rest, let your body perform its natural functions, and after an hour or two consider driving.
